Peniche

Besides countless surfing and other water activities, Peniche preserves its charming old town, surrounded by an impressive sixteenth century Fortaleza that has had different roles throughout history and today houses the municipal museum. Another thing that you cannot miss is the food, you mustn’t leave Peniche without tasting some traditional seafood specialties accompanied by the Western region’s wines, and the delicious desserts such as almond cakes, ‘esses’ biscuits or an ‘amigo de Peniche’.
