Overview
You will be picked up from your hotel in Aqaba to be transferred to Petra, the stunning Nabataean city, lost in time for almost two thousand years before being re-discovered in the 19th century. One of the new seven wonders of the world, and the highlight of this trip, Petra is a city carved into the rose-colored sandstone cliff faces of the surrounding desert valleys. You will have the full morning to tour Petra with your guide. You might also get the chance to explore on your own other sites in Petra, such as the monastery, before having lunch at a local restaurant.You will be spending the rest of this trip exploring the magnificent desert landscape of Wadi Rum, made famous by the deeds of Lawrence of Arabia as well as through its natural beauty. You'll travel through the large desert valleys on a 4x4 vehicle tour providing you with the best possible views of this moon-like landscape, filled with red sand, giant sandstone cliffs, and desert wildlife. You'll then get the chance to enjoy a relaxing tea break with the Bedouins before departing back to Aqaba.
