Accompanied by a local guide, you will access the palace from the main entrance in Piazza della Signoria without waiting in line.Palazzo Vecchio was built at the end of 1200 to house the government of the Florentine Republic. In the 16th century, the palace was the residence of Grand Duke Cosimo I de Medici, and after the unification of Italy, it became the seat of the Parliament when Florence was the capital city of the Kingdom of Italy. Today the palace is the seat of the Municipality of Florence.Alongside your guide, you will visit the private rooms of the Grand Dukes renovated by Giorgio Vasari.
