Overview
Start the tour with a pick-up from your hotel and begin at the Red Fort, the iconic red sandstone built by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan. Then, get ready to try out a classic rickshaw ride that takes you through the narrow lanes of the 300-year-old Chandni Chowk market, which sells silver, jewelry, aromatic spices, leather, fruit, and vegetables. After you witness the hustle and bustle in a local Indian market, you will visit Jama Masjid, the last example of Shah Jahan’s architectural genius. To take a break, you can stop for lunch at a local restaurant (at your own expense). After lunch, continue to Humayun’s Tomb, which is considered to have inspired the Taj Mahal. Lastly, you will visit Qutab Minar, a complex with historical monuments including the Iron Pillar and the Quwwat-ul-Islam, one of the oldest mosques in India. Finally, you will be dropped off at your hotel in Delhi.
