Overview
Join this experience and spend your day in the Natural Reserve of Ria Formosa. On this full-day tour, you'll discover the different bird species of the area with an expert guide.You'll start your experience in the morning in a complex of saltpans and lagoons behind Faro airport. The saltpans are usually a perfect place to observe flamingos and shelducks and, in the reedbeds around, you'll be able to hear Cetti’s warblers. In the lagoons, many ducks are present mallards, gadwalls, teals, and much more. After visiting the lagoons, you'll walk along a golf course on the way to a bird hide. This green area is ideal to see many species such as hoopoes, Azure-winged Magpies, and Waxbills.In the afternoon, you'll reach a natural area near Tavirawhere you'll have the opportunity to enjoy birdwatching at the saltpans. This place, which belongs to the Ria Formosa Natural Park, is ideal to see waders as well as flamingos. On the dykes between the lagoons, you'll see a wide range of species.
