El Escorial Monastery half-day tour from Madrid

Overview

Visit the Monastery of San Lorenzo de El Escorial and enjoy the spectacular views from the Valley of the Fallen, all accompanied by our expert guide. Starting from our headquarters, we’ll drive for approximately one hour to San Lorenzo de El Escorial to show you the inside of the Monastery, built in the sixteenth century under the command of Felipe II. After about ten minutes by bus, we’ll go to the Valley of the Fallen, where you will appreciate the colossal cross over 150 meters high, the Basilica and Crypt excavated in the rock of the mountain and of course, we will enjoy spectacular views of Madrid’s mountain range (guide inside the monument not included). Upon return to Madrid (14:00hrs approx.), the activity ends close to our office. Visit Segovia (Optional)Segovia is one of the most popular cities in Spain. Get ready to observe the iconic Aqueduct Square, and start your walk. Don't miss the chance to admire the monumental Town Hall Square, the exterior of the Gothic Cathedral, and enter the impressive interior of the 12-century Alcazar, which used to be the former fortified residence of the kings of Castile.
