Overview
Slow things down a pace and enjoy a chilled afternoon discovering Bali's unexposed culture – we're talking pottery and ceramics. And to top it off, there's a visit to the renowned Tanah Lot temple to see the sunset. We're off to the village of Pejaten, which for many years has been recognised as the main roof-tile producer of Bali. You'll have a one-hour pottery course and learn the different techniques of ceramic-making, including how to wedge, centre, lift and form. Then, you can put into practice everything you've learnt and try your hand on the potter's wheel. Afterwards, visit the museum and check out a collection of ceramics, in various forms of pots, cutlery and kitchenware. As the day draws to an end, we'll head to Tanah Lot – one of Bali's most prestigious temples and popular sunset spots. Perched on a rock in the middle of the sea, the sacred Hindu shrine is famed for its unique offshore setting and sunset backdrops. What better way to end the day than watching the orange sun sink below the horizon.
