Programme
Overview
Experience an evening of Slavic Sounds as Kalivoda’s elegant Romanticism, Prokofiev’s incisive modernity, and Dvořák’s Bohemian lyricism unite at the piano. Curated by Leona Gogolicynová, this recital offers a vibrant journey through Slavic musical traditions, capped with a live Q&A. In support of the ENO Benevolent Fund.Under the guidance of curator Leona Gogolicynová, 7 Star Arts presents a piano recital that traverses the rich tapestry of Slavic music. The evening opens with Jan Kalivoda’s graceful early-Romantic compositions, their gentle melodies evoking the sweep of 19th-century courts. Sergei Prokofiev’s modernist edge follows, his rhythmic drive and bold harmonies injecting a sharp contemporary pulse. Finally, Antonín Dvořák’s warm, Bohemian lyricism brings the programme to a jubilant close, each note suffused with folk-inspired charm. After the final chord, the artists invite the audience into a short Q&A session, sharing insights into their interpretive choices and the cultural forces behind this diverse repertoire. All proceeds benefit the ENO Benevolent Fund.
