The tenor YOSEP KANG studied in Seoul, Salzburg and Berlin. After winning a number of important singing competitions, he was employed in the ensemble of the Deutschen Oper Berlin, where he stayed until 2013.
At the same time, invitations followed to sing Conte d’Almaviva in Stuttgart, Essen, Hannover, Cologne and Wiesbaden, as Edgardo (Lucia di Lammermoor) in Hannover and Wiesbaden and as Alfredo (La traviata) among others at the Komische Oper Berlin. Most recent performances have led him among others as Rigoletto-Herzog and Arnold (Guillaume Tell) at the Bayerische Staatsoper, as Arnold at the Hamburgische Staatsoper and the Grazer Oper, as Rodolfo and Alfredo at the Dresdner Semperoper, as Herzog in Leipzig, as Tebaldo (I Capuleti e i Montecchi) at the Festspielhaus in Baden-Baden and to Geneva. In 2015, Yosep Kang gave his debut at the Römischen Oper as Herzog and at the Deutschen Oper am Rhein as Alfredo, and in 2016 he gave his debut as Rodolfo in the opera in Sydney. In the near future, roles include among others Macduff (Macbeth) at the Nederlandse Opera, Arnold in Munich and Hamburg. At the Wiener Staatsoper, he gave his debut in 2013 as Rodolfo and has also sung the leading role in Les Contes d‘Hoffmann.
