Programme
Overview

From November 28th to December 1st, the "Boundless Silk Road - Wu Man×Wu Wei Pipa and Sheng Residency Program" hosted by Xinghai Concert Hall.

Three concerts and many supporting high-quality activities, with superb piano skills, diverse and integrated musical vocabulary, adapted and improvised folk music works, give traditional instruments a new definition in modern music. For four consecutive days, we invite you to find the future in diverse traditions with the masters of Chinese music, and experience the peak intersection of Wu Man and Wu Wei's ivory tower! On the evening of December 1st, the distant mountains echo Wu Man and Wu Wei Pipa and Sheng Concert, we will witness a pioneering concert on the spot. Wu Man and Wu Wei, two leading figures in Chinese music with an international vision, will redefine many traditional repertoires that are familiar to everyone. The album "Distant Mountains" includes the live recordings of Wu Man and Wu Wei at the Morgenland Music Festival in Germany in 2018. The seven songs cover a thousand years of history and span the scenery of thousands of miles. They use their superb improvisational skills to inject fresh blood into traditional music. Since their first collaboration with Distant Mountains in 2018, the two artists will once again bring this set of history-breaking music to the stage of Xinghai Concert Hall! The silk and bamboo music of Jiangnan, the beats of the southwestern ethnic groups, the melodies of Kazakhstan, the lingering sounds of the Tang Dynasty and other elements will once again appear in front of everyone with a brand new look. We look forward to this collaboration, and the two artists will bring us brand new surprises and experiences.
