About
Born in Napoli (1985), Valeria Sepe is one of the most talented Italian sopranos of her generation, she won the prize "Oscar della lirica 2015/16 as Soprano of New Generetion”. Sepe graduated at the Conservatory “G. F. Ghedini” in Cuneo, and attended masterclasses held by Luisa Castellani, Mariella Devia, Luciana D'Intino, Bruna Baglioni and Marcello Giordani. Valeria Sepe appeared in some among the most important Italian theaters, including Teatro San Carlo di Napoli, Teatro Massimo di Palermo, Opera di Firenze, Teatro Carlo Felice di Genova, Teatro Bellini di Catania, Arena di Verona, working with such conductors as Fabio Luisi, Nicola Luisotti, Renato Palumbo, Stefano Ranzani and Oren.
In 2013 she debuted in Napoli Milionaria of Nino Rota as Amalia at the theaters of Lucca, Pisa and Livorno with great public and critical success.The season 2014/2015 sees Sepe as Liù in Puccini’s Turandot at the National Theater of Skopje and at the Varna’s Festival; as Nedda/Colombina in Leoncavallo’s Pagliacci at the Teatro antico di Taormina; as Mimì in La bohème at Bellini di Catania; Amelia Grimaldi in Simon Boccanegra at the National Theatre of Skopje; Micaela in Carmen at Art Center of Sejong.
The season 2015/2016 sees Sepe as Amelia Grimaldi in Simon Boccanegra at Theaters of Pisa, Livorno and Lucca; as Nedda/Colombina in Pagliacci at Verdi in Salerno; as Margherita in Boito’s Mefistolefe at the Teatro Verdi di Pisa; as Micaela in Carmen at Arena di Verona; as Liù in Turandot at the XXX Music International of Macao; as Desdemona in Otello of Verdi at the Opera of Hong-Kong, as Mimì in La bohème at the Teatro Massimo in Palermo and at Opera di Firenze.
The last engagements of 2017 were: Nedda in Pagliacci at Teatro Filarmonico di Verona and at Art Center of Seoul; Mimì in La bohème at the Teatro Regio di Parma. Moreover, she sings the Requiem of Fauré and Petite Messe Solennelle of Rossini at Teatro Massimo di Palermo. Engagements in the season 2017/2018 include Micaela at Opera di Firenze and at Teatro Coccia di Novara; Liù at Teatro Verdi di Salerno, Liù and her debut in Trovatore (Leonora) at Bunkakaikan in Tokyo; Mimì at Teatro Politeama di Lecce.
Besides, during season 2018/2019 Mimì and Liù at Teatro Massimo di Palermo, Liù at Opera Hong-Kong, Manon Lescaut at Sao Paulo, Fundacao Osesp. Mimì and Nedda at Maggio Musicale Fiorentino ,Nedda at Teatro Massimo di Palermo.
