TERESA SCHWAMM, born in 1988 in Augsburg, had her first violin lessons from her father at the age of seven, and her first viola lesson at ten years old. In 2001 she stated her studies under Jorge Sutil (Munich Philharmonic). From 2005 she studied under Prof. Tabea Zimmermann and Lars Anders Tomter at the Academy of Music Hanns Eisler, Berlin. She has also had guidance from Nils Mönkemeyer, Kim Kashkashian, Barbara Westphal, and Erich Krueger and won several first prizes at the national competition "Young Musicians", the 2nd Prize and Audience Prize at the International Lake Constance Music Competition in 2011 and a winner of the Arts grant from the city of Gersthofen.
Teresa is a recipitent of the Christa and Werner-Strohmayr-Foundation scholarship since 2005.
She played principal viola in the European Union Youth Orchestra, the National Youth Orchestra, the Ensemble Resonanz and the Philharmonic Orchestra of Augsburg, and substitutes regularly with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, the Mahler Chamber Orchestra and the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra.
Teresa has performed as a soloist with orchestras including the Hofer Symphoniker at Bayreuth, the Southwest German Chamber Orchestra Pforzheim, the Slovak Sinfonietta, the Swabian Youth Symphony Orchestra and the National Youth Orchestra conducted by Gerd Albrecht, and been a guest at festivals such as the Mecklenburg Vorpommern Festival and the Bad Kissingen Summer Music Festival,
Teresa Schwamm has been a member of the Armida Quartett since 2006.
