Sommer Ulrickson was born in California and studied dance, theatre and Performance. In 1998, she came to Berlin through a federal chancellor scholarship of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation and works here as a director and choreographer. In 1999 she co-founded the wee dance company and worked with Johann Kresnik at the Volksbühne. She created numerous own choreographies and theatre productions such as "Writer's Block" on the occasion of the 66th anniversary of book burning at Bebelplatz and the Jewish Museum. The Sophiensæle presented their piece: "Remains", "I love you", "Jerusalem syndrome", "Creatures of Habit" and recently, "Fear in Search of a Reason". In the Free chamber of Magdeburg play developed with the actors ' ensemble "An American night". At the Deutsches Theater Berlin, she staged "Yes Yes to Moscow" based on Chekhov's "three sisters". In California, together with the Israeli composer Amos Elkana, the Hamlet adaptation "After Hamlet" was created, which was shown by the Federal Foreign Office in Berlin. Together with the composer Moritz Gagern, she developed "Lovesick" for the Neukölln opera. Also for the Globe Theater der Freilichtspiele Schwäbisch Hall she developed together with Gagern the production "Kurs:Liebe".
