About
The Philharmonie Salzburg was founded in 1998 (until 2011 Junge Philharmonie Salzburg) by the conductor Elisabeth Fuchs.
The repertoire ranges from classical-romantic works to Igor Stravinsky, Benjamin Britten to John Adams and Arvo Pärt. In addition, the orchestra also works on cross projects such as "Best of Hollywood", "Broadway meets Hip Hop" or "Soul meets Classic".
Soloists such as Andreas Martin Hofmeir, Olga Scheps and Benjamin Schmid were on stage with the orchestra, as well as Quadro Nuevo, the Klazz Brothers and the David Orlowsky Trio. There were performances at the Salzburg Festival, in the Brucknerhaus Linz, in the Große Festspielhaus, in the Wiener Musikverein, in the Konzerthaus Wien, u. a.
In addition to subscription concerts, the Philharmonie Salzburg also arranged formats such as the Symphonic-Talk concerts. Attracting a young audience is a concern, which is why the orchestra organizes family concerts (children's festivals) and teen concerts.
