Morgan Pearse, an Australian baritone, was born in 1988. His parents hail from Denmark and Australia.
Morgan Pearce is a renowned baritone with a distinguished career in opera and concerts. He studied at the Sydney Conservatorium, the University of Sydney, and the Royal College of Music's International Opera School in London, earning his Master of Music degree from 2011 to 2013. He also participated in the Young Artist Program at Houston Grand Opera from 2014 to 2015.
Pearce has won multiple awards, including the Gold Medal at the Royal Overseas Music Competition (2013), the Lies Askons Prize (2014), and first prize at the Cesti competition (2016). He has been recognized by the John Warner Recitals, RCM Schumann Competitions, Samling Artists, Australian Music Foundation, and Tate Foundation.
Since 2008, he has been a freelance musician, performing with the London Handel Festival, Australian National Tour of the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra, and Sydney Chamber Opera. Notable roles include Imeneo, Apollo, and the world premiere of "Underground Man."
During the 2013-2014 season, he sang Owen Wingrave with the Sydney Chamber Opera, Pompeo with ENO, and Minos at the London Handel Festival. In 2014-2015, he performed Papageno, Yamadori, Anthony, Gugliemo, and Malatesta in various productions. He also sang Figaro in "Ghosts of Versailles" for Wolf Trap Opera.
After his debut with ENO in 2015-2016 as Figaro, he reprised the role in 2017-2018. Other engagements include performances with the Moscow Philharmonic, Musica Viva, Netherlands Radio Philharmonia, and his debut recital at Wigmore Hall with Simon Leper. He has also worked with Opera NZ, Badisches State Theatre, and the Bolshoi Theatre.
Pearce's concert performances include Schubert's "Winterreise," Fauré's Requiem, Handel's Messiah, and Britten's War Requiem. He has appeared at Wigmore Hall, Royal Festival Hall, Sydney Opera House, and the Edinburgh Fringe.
He has given solo recitals at Wigmore Hall, Birmingham Philharmonic, Musica Viva, Real Orchestra of Seville, Netherlands Radio Orchestra, Russian National Orchestra, and King's College Cambridge.
