Louise Katharina Wehr was born on November 29, 1996 in Munich, where she received her first violin lessons with Jorge Sutil. From 2007-2010 she worked as a soloist at the children's concerts of Heinrich Klug and participated in tours of a chamber ensemble of the Munich Philharmonic. From 2010-2014 she studied with Prof. Ina Kertscher at the Institute for Early Childhood Support for musically talented students of the Hannover Music Academy. In 2014 she took her full degree in the violin class of Prof. Krzysztof Wegrzyn.
As a soloist and in chamber music ensembles, Louise Wehr was often the first national award winner of "Jugend musiziert". She received special prizes and scholarships from the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben and other institutions. In 2012 she won the 1st prize at the "Concours Flame" in Paris and with her partner Alexander Vorontsov the Eduard Söring Prize of the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben. In 2013 she won the Förderpreis and the Audience Award at the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival and was a finalist at the international Ludwig Spohr Competition.
For many years she regularly receives concert invitations from the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, the Festspiele Neubrandenburg, the NDR Hannover and Bremen, the International Violin Festival of Young Masters in Lindau and other organizers. As prizewinner of the German Musical Instrument Fund, Louise Wehr plays a violin by Matteo Goffriller from 1723. She is a scholarship holder of the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben and the Studienstiftung des Deutschen Volkes.
