Katja Stuber Tickets

Katja Stuber was born in Roding in Germany’s Upper Palatinate region near the Czech border. She studied at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Munich under Christian Gerhaher and completed her degree with distinction in 2008. She attended the oratorio and lieder classes of Christoph Hammer, Juliane Banse and Helmut Deutsch in Munich. She completed her master class degree in Saarbrücken in April 2011, also with distinction. It was taught by Ruth Ziesak. She is currently working with Margreet Honig in Amsterdam.

During the 2009/2010 season she was a member of the ensemble at the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz. She has subsequently returned to this venue as a guest. Between 2014 and 2017 she was an ensemble member at the Staatstheater Darmstadt and could be heard as a guest at the Staatstheater Wiesbaden and at the Theater Bonn during the same period.

In the summer of 2011 Katja Stuber celebrated her debut at the 100th Bayreuth Festival, which received a lot of attention. In summer 2013 Katja Stuber performed at the Salzburg Festival for the first time.

As a concert soloist Katja Stuber has played with acclaimed orchestras under conductors such as Daniel Harding, Peter Dijkstra, Hans-Christoph Rademann, Thomas Hengelbrock, Giovanni Antonini, Konrad Junghänel, Philippe Herreweghe and Herbert Bomstedt.

As a soloist she has (had) engagements for the current and upcoming seasons at the following events: the opening concert in 2017 at the Bachfest Leipzig, her debut with the Tonhalle Orchester Zurich, the ‘Winter in Schwetzingen’ with the German premiere of Nicola Porpora’s ‘Mitridate’, in the role of Ismene. Katja Stuber was celebrated as the ‘ideal choice’ at her Bremen debut as Mélisande (Debussy: Pelléas et Mélisande) with the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie. In June 2018 she could be heard in that same role with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra.

Katja Stuber holds a scholarship from the organization Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now e.V. and from the Deutscher Bühnenverein. Having won a scholarship at the Deutscher Musikwettbewerb 2010 Katja Stuber receives support as part of the ‘Künstlerliste – Solisten des Deutschen Musikwettbewerbs’.

Since the winter semester of 2017/18 Katja Stuber has held a lectureship in singing at the Hochschule für Kirchenmusik und Musikpädagogik in Regensburg.
