Born: January 9, 1974 - Groenlo, the Netherlands

The Dutch soprano, Judith van Wanroij, studied with Margreet Honig at the Conservatory of Amsterdam and De Nederlandse Opera Academie. She was a first prize winner at the Erna Spoorenberg Vocalisten Presentation and took part in the Jardin des Voix 2005 (Les Arts Florissants).

Judith van Wanroij made her opera debut singing the title role of La Périchole and continued singing roles such as Musetta in La Bohème, Karolina in Dvê Vdovy, Drusilla/Virtù/Damigella/Valletto in L'Incoronazione di Poppea, Julia in Der Vetter aus Dingsda, Belinda in Dido and Aeneas, Echo in Ariadne auf Naxos, Thisbé in Pirame et Thisbé, Ilia in W.A. Mozart's Idomeneo, Despina in W.A. Mozart's Cosi fan Tutte, Cléone/Suivante/Ombre in Castor et Pollux, Female Chorus in Benjamin Britten's Rape of Lucretia, Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni, Emilie/Fatime in Les Indes Galantes, in numerous opera houses in Europe and the USA. 

Lately Judith van Wanroij specialized herself in French Baroque Music, working together with William Christie, René Jacobs, Christophe Rousset, Hervé Niquet, Skip Sempé and Frans Brüggen amongst others.
