Josep Vila i Jover was born in Granollers in 1970 and holds a piano and singing degree at the Josep M. Ruera de Granollers Municipal Conservatory. He works choral management with the maestros Enric Ribó, Manel Cabero, Conxita Garcia and the German maestro Christian Grube.
He is currently the director of the Chamber Choir of Granollers and the Children's Choir of the Union, with whom he has been awarded prizes and festivals of Cant Coral, such as the Choir Contest of Toulouse, the Havaneres Youth Contest of Torrevieja, the International Festival de Música de Cantonigròs or the International Choral Song Festival of Malgrat de Mar.
Under his direction both groups have carried out several productions, the most recent of which are the premiere and recording of John Rutter's Dancing Day Works and Ceremony of Carols by Britten (La Mano de Guido - 2012), by El Bestiolari by Albert Guinovart (All Sona Records - 2010) and Josep Maria Ruera Vocal Music (Ars Harmonica - 2009). Vila and Jover have also taken on the stage operas in pocket format such as Brundibar in Therezin with the collaboration of the playwright Quim Lecina, family shows such as After the Jazz or VEUS and large-format concerts such as John Rutter's Magnificat with the Choir of House of Granollers.
Josep Vila i Jover has been a professor of choral management courses at the Secretariat of Children's Choirs of Catalonia, master classes for the Federation of Children's Choirs in Álava, has been director of the choir of the Josep Maria Ruera Conservatory of Granollers and has made a jury in prestigious events like the one of Torrevieja or the Polyphonic Ensembles in Provence.
