About
Elisabeth Brauß, born in 1995, is considered one of the most outstanding musicians of her generation.
She regularly gives guest performances internationally, amongst others in the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, at the Mariinksy Theater in St. Petersburg, in the Tonhalle Zurich, in the Barbican Center in London, at the Konzerthaus Berlin, at the Heidelberger Frühling or at the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival and the Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
As a soloist, she performs with orchestras such as the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, the NDR Radiophilharmonie Hannover, the Dortmunder Symphoniker and the Bochum Symphony Orchestra.
In addition to first prizes at the international Steinway Competition in Hamburg and at the International Grotrian Steinweg Piano Competition in Braunschweig, in 2012 she was awarded the Prätorius Musikpreis Lower Saxony Prize.
In August 2013, she won the main and audience awards at the TONALi Grand Prix in Hamburg. In 2015 she won the first prize in the competition "Sound and Explanation" in Frankfurt, in October 2016 she won the Kissinger KlavierOlymp in Bad Kissingen.
In May 2017 her debut CD with works by Beethoven, Prokofiev, Chopin and Denhoff was released by OehmsClassics, which was awarded, amongst others, an "Editor's Choice" by the English Grammophon Magazine.
For the seasons 2018/2019 and 2019/2020 she was selected as one of six musicians for the prestigious BBC New Generation Artist Scheme.
