Corinna Desch, born in Gelsenkirchen, studied violin with Igor Ozim and the Amadeus Quartet in Cologne.
She completed her concert exam with a full scholarship from the DAAD at the Royal College of Music in London. International Master Courses u.a. Dorothy Delay, Felix Andrievsky, Franco Gulli and the Borodin Quartet completed their training. The prizewinner of numerous competitions (including 2nd prize in the Tonger Competition Cologne and 1st Prize in the University Competition Violin RCM) performed as a soloist with violin concertos by Mendelssohn, Lalo, Glazunov, Tchaikovsky and Bartók. In addition, world premieres and radio recordings as Primaria of the Ensemble Köln and the live broadcast of a violin recital (including Ysaye Solosonate No. 3) at Classic FM London document her extensive concert activities. She was a regular guest of the London Symphony Orchestra, the English Chamber Orchestra, the Academy of St. Martin-in-the-Fields and the Opera House Covent Garden. As a baroque violinist she played in the ensembles of Trevor Pinnock, Sir John-Eliot Gardiner, Sir Roger Norrington and the Freiburg Baroque Orchestra. From 1993 to 2002 Corinna Desch was a permanent member of the first violins in the London Philharmonic Orchestra. Since 2003 she is engaged in the Bavarian State Orchestra and in 2006 she was awarded the Festival Prize of the Munich Opera Festival.
