About

Born in 1976 into a family of musicians, Éric Lacrouts began studying piano and violin at the age of six. After obtaining the highest awards for violin (class of Jacques Ghestem) and chamber music (classes of Régis Pasquier and Itamar Golan) at the National Conservatory of Music of Paris, he integrates his very selective development cycle. At the end of his studies in France, he sharpens his game with great masters such as Igor Oistrakh, Yair Kless, Hermann Krebbers, Philip Hirshorn and Joseph Silverstein. Violin solo of the Opera National Orchestra of Paris since 2003, he tackles the lyrical and symphonic repertoire under the baton of the greatest conductors (Solti, Osawa, Gergiev, Boulez, Salonen, Bychkov, Priest ...) and collaborates with many composers for their creations.

The first violinist of the Psophos quartet, he has appeared in numerous European festivals surrounded by artists such as Salvatore Accardo, Bruno Giurana, Antonio Meneses, Régis and Bruno Pasquier, Denis Pascal and Cédric Tiberghien. He is a dedicatee and creator of works by Lucien Guérinel, Gérard Gastinel and Emmanuel Séjourné.
He is also a founding member of Jean-Baptiste Vuillaume String Trio composed of his brother Cyrille Lacrouts and Pierre Lenert.
On record, his live performance of the Jolivet quartet (Saphir label) and the recording dedicated to the contemporary contemporary violin / marimba repertoire (Polymnie label) are acclaimed by critics (Diapason, Concerto.net).
Since the summer of 2010, he has been a member of the World Orchestra for Peace under the direction of Valery Gergiev.
He plays a violin of Jean-Baptiste Vuillaume of 1835 and a bow of Christian Barthe.
