Overview

From November 28th to December 1st, the "Boundless Silk Road - Wu Man×Wu Wei Pipa and Sheng Residency Program" hosted by Xinghai Concert Hall.

Three concerts and many supporting high-quality activities, with superb piano skills, diversified and integrated musical vocabulary, adapted and improvised folk music works, give traditional instruments a new definition in modern music. For four consecutive days, you are invited to find the future in diverse traditions with the masters of Chinese music, and experience the peak intersection of Wu Man and Wu Wei's ivory tower!

On November 28th, a dialogue across time and space Wu Wei and Hamaya Kei Sheng and Organ Concert was presented by the world-renowned sheng player Wu Wei and organist Hamaya Kei. The repertoire covers the Baroque period to modern times, showing the musical echoes of the combination of traditional and modern, Eastern and Western elements. Thousands of years of cultural integration have allowed the East to meet the West and the West to fall in love with the East. Sheng and pipe organ have similar shapes and sound-generating principles. When the pipe organ first came to China, it was called "Xinglong Sheng", while Sheng is called "mouth organ" in English. When these two instruments with similar shapes but different backgrounds meet on the stage, they show a new look of East-West fusion.
